What Happens After the End?
My college journey has been a rollercoaster of experiences, filled with both challenges and triumphs. While I am leaving college with more questions than answers, one thing remains clear: my passion for biochemistry and teaching. With this in mind, I've decided to embark on a gap year following intense introspection and numerous discussions with my family, friends, and mentors.

Starting this summer, I will begin working as a postbaccalaureate at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) Distinguished Postbaccalaureate Scholars Program. Over the next 1-2 years, I will be investigating the function of GPCRs using bioengineered tools comprised of single-domain antibodies derived from camelids (nanobodies) and synthetic small molecules. I'm excited to continue working with my favorite receptor type as I develop my skills in molecular biology and prepare for the next step of my academic career.
As I step into this next phase of my life, I am filled with anticipation about the possibilities it holds. Whether it leads me to pursue a Ph.D., a Master’s in education, or an unforeseen path. While the road ahead may not be easy, I am firmly grounded in the understanding that with dedication, nothing is beyond reach.
